International two-days biking event
Velos Cycling Club organizes a high standards biking event at the second fortnight of each September, departing from the White Tower with the participation of top Greek and foreign cyclists. The races are under the auspices of the Greek Ministry of Tourism and the Greek Cycling Association. Velos is the only club nationwide that sent one of its athletes to 3 continuous Olympic Games, while the most prominent one, Kleanthis Barkas, won the 4th place at Olympic Sprint. Throughout the club’s long history, it has been nominated with more than 400 medals in national championships, has broken 20 national records and many of its exceptional cyclists has been members of the National Teams.
