Papafeio Orphanage
The - born in Thessaloniki - wealthy businessman Ioannis Papafis, professionally active in Malta, provided many times financial support his birthplace and the Greek state. With his bequest, the Papafeio Orphanage 'Meliteus' of Thessaloniki was founded. Work of the architect Xenophon Paionidis, the Papafeio Orphanage opened in 1903 and today operates as Child Care Center for boys in Thessaloniki.
