The Photography Museum is housed at Warehouse A’, Pier A’, at the Port of Thessaloniki. It operates simultaneously both as a Center for periodical activities and Festivals’ organizer. Quite recently the part of the Museum at the former Army Warehouse building in Warehouse A’ commenced its operations, in collaboration with Thessaloniki’s Port Organization.

It operates around the pivots of memory, encounter and discovery, aiming to activities of local, national and international range through exhibitions’ designing and implementation of specific subjects, collecting archives (of 1890-1980 with more than 100,000 photo equipment and more than 4,000 photos by 300 Greek and foreign artists dating from 1970 onwards). It also publishes pamphlets, implements educational programmes and organizes PhotoBiennale (an international festival of Photography). At the same time, it reinforces dialogue and meetings via the evaluations of photos (portfolio reviews), organizes open discussions(“Words and Images”) awards, seminars and shows in close collaboration with other organizations and institutions (250 significant Greek and International institutions and more than 1,100 artists worldwide).
